I've been watching old Futurama episodes all week long. In just two more days, I'll finally get some new episodes to watch. I've always been a massive fan of the show and have been watching it since it came out in the late 1990s.
It sounds weird saying late 1990s, but it's funny. I've been watching this show over the last two centuries. Each time the show gets canceled, it pisses me off. There is enough of a following that many people are watching the shows; why the networks keep canceling boggles my mind.
Hopefully, the fourth time will be a charm. Hulu may understand the popularity based on watch numbers on the platform. Networks always had to rely on Nielsen ratings, and I believe that system is flawed. With streaming, they know exactly how many people are watching and for how long.
Finally, after nearly a decade, I'll get a fresh fix of Futurama. I wrote an article about the reboot on Wisedocks before I converted the site to quotes. I also created a Futurama quiz. However, the quizzes on that site did horribly. I love quizzes and wish I could figure out a way of making them fun so more people would use them.
I would love to make some quizzes for this site, but they are very complicated to build. I don't want to go through the trouble just for them not to be utilized.
People just don't want to bother with them. We are mindless zombies on our phones. We want to scroll and scroll. Having to click on things is too much trouble. It's a shame.
I was working on the site tonight, and my legs started to become restless. So I decided to take a nice nighttime bike ride to work the anxiety out of my legs. I was surprised at how cool it was outside. I was getting a bit chilly riding, but I had a blast. It was very relaxing. I will start waiting until after dark to take my bike rides in the summer. I was excited to see the Whataburger close to my house was finally open. The line was a bit long, but I don't mind.
I'm a night owl, so anything that is open 24 hours gets my business.
Even though I worked on the site off and on most of the day today, you wouldn't notice as I spent most of the time working on behind-the-scenes bugs. I got the gallery to load up as a page and post to the sitemap. Whenever I add a new image to the gallery, the site builds a page for it and adds it to the sitemap. This will make my life so much easier in the future. I still have some bugs as I modified the new posts to the blog code for adding to the sitemap in the process.
I'll find out how buggy it is when I publish this post. History tells me that I'll spend the rest of the night working on that part of the code after I publish this post, and it doesn't work like it's supposed to. So that's what I'll spend the rest of my night doing.
I also added a bit of mobile functionality to the gallery. Once you are viewing the images, you can swipe right and left to switch between the pages for the images. There are buttons you can use on mobile and desktop as well. I plan to add search functions eventually to the gallery. The categories should be implemented more next week. Buttons will be added at the top of the page for each category, making sorting through the images a bit easier if you're looking for something in particular.
